Cartracker for drivers.
Clear, calm and transparent: what is recorded, what can your organisation see and how is your privacy protected?

What does Cartracker mean for you?
Your organisation uses Cartracker to record vehicle use and trips and to manage the fleet. That includes clear information about which data is recorded and who has access.
What is recorded?
Per trip, information can include distance, route, timestamps, trip mode and relevant vehicle data. Depending on the modules selected, driving behaviour such as braking and speed can also be processed.
Who sees what?
Your organisation determines this through roles and permissions. Not every user has the same access to locations, trips, reports or settings.
How does private mode work?
For a private trip, no route and no timestamps are shown. Only that a trip took place and the number of kilometres remain visible.
Live location?
Live location is not an automatic right for everyone. Access can be assigned deliberately and should match the purpose and internal privacy policy.
No panic. Full transparency.
Cartracker is designed with privacy built into the technology: private trips are shielded, roles and permissions restrict access, and organisations can deliberately configure modules and functionality.
Private, business and commuting
Trip modes can be selected manually or configured automatically using schedules and points of interest. This makes classification easy without losing sight of administrative requirements.

Another question?
Read the driver guide or contact the Cartracker support team. We are happy to explain how the setup within your organisation works.
What changes in practice?
Cartracker helps organisations with trip logging and fleet management. A vehicle receives hardware that can automatically record trip and vehicle data. Your organisation decides which functions are used and who gets access. The aim is to reduce the administration you have to manage yourself.
Automatic where possible
After installation, trips are recorded automatically. Depending on the configuration, a trip mode can be selected manually or switch automatically using schedules and points of interest.
Clear agreements
The employer defines purposes, roles and access. Cartracker provides the technology to apply those agreements in the portal.
A private trip is deliberately shielded.
For a private trip, no route and no timestamps are shown. Only that a trip took place and the number of kilometres remain visible. The private view also shows no live location. This allows an organisation to maintain a complete administration without showing more private information than necessary.
Private trip
No route. No departure or arrival time. No live location. Only the number of kilometres and that a trip took place.
Business trip
For business trips, more information may be available for the business purposes for which your organisation uses Cartracker, depending on roles, permissions and enabled modules.
Access is configured by role.
Cartracker works with standard roles and fine-grained permissions. A driver does not need to see the same information as a fleet manager, and a fleet manager does not automatically need access to every administrative setting. Organisations can adjust permissions further or create custom roles.
Still unclear? Ask a real person.
The driver guide and Knowledge Centre explain in detail what Cartracker records and how privacy is configured. If you still have questions about the system, our support team is happy to help. For questions about policy or the chosen setup within your organisation, your own internal contact is the first point of contact.
